CHARACTER SUMMARY

Aak is the child of a formerly-renowned doctor. That doctor ended up being framed for malpractice by his peers and swung entirely into a life of crime. Aak's father was then the poison-dealing rogue doctor, targeted by both gangs and law enforcement. When the man was eventually found dead, it's said that the whole city of Lungmen breathed a sigh of relief. Except Aak. After all, he knew that his father had laid a permanent target on him. People who despised his father would want their revenge through him. People who used his father would want to use Aak for the skills he had inherited. He tried to lay low and vanish but, ultimately, he couldn't. He was pulled back into Lungmen's underbelly, feeling he had no other options, and that at least this path wouldn't be boring.

Later, after the fallout of a gang fight, Aak was taken in by Mr. Lee and employed at his "Detective Agency." In this place, Aak found stability. He was allowed to be capricious and practice his craft on his own terms. When Mr. Lee came to an agreement with Rhodes Island, Aak was contracted out as an operator and part of the medical staff. While Lungmen and the Agency were places of comfort, Rhodes Island was a place of diverse backgrounds and opinions. Aak was allowed to meet with other medical minds and while these were not frictionless interactions he is growing and changing.

"Honestly, I dunno if I'm helpful or not. The way I see it, you've gotta be nice to be helpful, and I'm not blind to how people perceive me. But in any case, if you ever get sick, I've got you covered."
